Portman reports 35% Q1 jump in conference and events revenue

Travel management agency Portman is reporting“significant growth” in its conference and events revenues in the first quarter of 2016 on the back of new client wins and strengthening its specialist team.

Portman’s national operations manager for conferences and events, Joanne Kirk, said: “Since we consolidated our team from a number of locations across the UK under one roof in East Kilbride, our momentum and results have been impressive. The sales are up by over a third for the first quarter, and ahead of budget.

“The business unit has surpassed all its objectives and is well placed for its best ever year in 2016.”

Kirk added that the company had enjoyed a positive run of new wins and repeat business which, she said, was set to contribute to the growth of this business in the year ahead.

Portman provides full travel arrangements, delegate management and full content and event production.
