Global Sustainable Events Summit researching new direction

Organisers of the Global Sustainable Events Summit (GSES), Smyle, Sustainable Events and Positive Impact, say they are to take the event in a new direction and promise to unveil a number of initiatives at a partners’ and supporters’ forum next week.

The organisers expect 30 industry thought leaders, made up from agencies, venues and suppliers to attend the forum at London & Partners head office in London on 23 May.

The new approach to the summit, the organisers say, is to be research-focused, with key stakeholders invited to contribute both with ideas and funding to drive the content. The aim to hold the 2016 event in the autumn.

Rick Stainton, who co-founded GSES with Fiona Pelham, said: “After three very successful years we feel the rapidly increasing profile of sustainability including renewables and smart infrastructure across many of our client industry sectors requires a more research orientated approach. So, we need to take the pulse of our industry and ask what issues it wants to address and what needs to be showcased as best practice. By engaging, we aim to gain their input on the essential content for this and therefore potential research topics that we should pursue.”

For more information and to request an invitation to the forum, contact Rick Stainton at: rick@smyle.co.uk or forum communications manager Liz Scriven: liz.scriven@lizscrivenpr.co.uk.
