Leeds Hotels and Venues Association’s (LHVA) Big Day gave over 30 couples a chance to see 14 venues from across the city at a wedding fair Open Day all in one place.
The event was designed to promote a wide variety of spaces available for weddings across Leeds.
Well Met, the conference office at Leeds Beckett University, hosted the fair at its Headingly venue, and used the occasion to launch its wedding package for 2016. The venue sits in 100 acres of parkland and visitors got the opportunity to browse the suppliers’ stands in the Great Hall.
A bridal runway showcased array of dresses provided by Louise Perry Bridal to the sound of music from live wedding band, The Metro Gnomes. Guests also enjoyed a flavour of the catering offering, with canapé sampling and a meet and greet with executive chef David Parker, formerly of Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate.
Well Met ran a prize draw on the day, with couples being offered up to £1,000 off their wedding package if they booked their wedding at the venue.
Emma Gough, conference & events officer at Well Met said: “The Big Day was a brilliant success, with couples joining us from around the region to explore our grounds and experience what we have to offer. We are now in discussions to hold further wedding fairs later in the summer.”
