The UK is to host the first-ever B2B conference on Muslim Lifestyle on 7 April at the Grand Connaught Rooms, London.
The event, MLE Connect, aims to bring together businesses, sector experts, entrepreneurs and industry specialists from across the UK to discuss how they can get involved with this growing niche market.
In a recent report it was estimated that the global expenditure on food and lifestyle sectors for the Muslim consumer market was £1.36tn.
The event will feature seminars from industry experts, workshops, panel discussions and networking sessions across a number of sectors such as media, finance, fashion, food and travel.
Tahir Mirza, founder and CEO of MLE Connect, said: “We expect up to 150 delegates to attend the inaugural event, which is open to all regardless of faith. We are really excited to launch MLE Connect that is the first-ever B2B event of its kind to be held in the UK. This is a ground-breaking event for the Muslim lifestyle sector which is a reaction to current market trends and addressing the needs of the industry.”
Guest speakers at the event include Sultan Choudhry (CEO of Al Rayan Bank), Altaf Alim (commercial director of modest fashion brand Aab), Shelina Janmohammed (vice-president of marketing agency Ogilvy Noor), award winning TV producer Navid Akhtar (CEO Alchemiya), and Moe Nawaz (mentor and strategic advisor to FTSE 100 Leaders).
Last year, the team behind MLE Connect, organised the Muslim Lifestyle Expo 2015 that took place at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry. It brought together 7,000 visitors from across the UK and 85 exhibitors from countries including Malaysia, Norway, Turkey, USA and South Africa. Earlier this year, the Expo won the Services in Creativity and Technology category at The British Muslim Awards 2016.
