Tourism Management Institute books in to Leicester

Leicester’s Curve is to host 120 UK and European delegates to one of the highest profile events in the tourism industry calendar. The Tourism Management Institute (TMI) brings its Hot Topic conference to the city on 24 May 2016.

Leicester Shire Promotions worked with TMI conference organisers to attract the event, with the main conference business taking place at Curve and a pre-conference welcome taking place at Hotel Maiyango the evening before.

The bureau will also be providing an opportunity for TMI members – including destination management organisations, local government, national tourist organisations, visitor attractions, consultancies and the higher education sector – to discover more about the 2,000-year history of Leicester ahead of the conference.

TMI president Robin Barker said: “We’re delighted that TMI is coming back to Leicester, one of only an elite group of destinations to be hosting a TMI event on more than one occasion. Great things have been happening in the city and we’re always keen to hear about these and ideas that we can share among members across the country.”

Martin Peters, chief executive of Leicester Shire Promotions, added: “The TMI has a great reputation as a strong influencer across the tourism industry and, as the tourism body for the city and county, we’re particularly proud that we’ve been able to work with them to bring this conference to Leicester.”
