Splendid Hospitality Group has appointed Maria Mavlappas as MICE manager for the Holiday Inn London – Wembley.
She comes to the role having exceeded her targets for three consecutive years and having been top course negotiator for Cola hotels.
Mavlappas says she will be focusing on targeting the larger events and exhibition business.
“The hotel is easily accessible and boasts over 780sqm of event space making it well suited to this market. I will be working with the team to help raise the hotel’s profile and ensure it reaches its full potential,” she says.
The hotel’s GM Denzil Ratnam adds: “The MICE market plays an important part in the overall hotel business strategy. We are delighted to have Maria on board as she has a good understanding of the brand and hotel offering having worked at IHG for many years. An asset to the team, Maria is queen at building relationships but will also be tapping into her own black book of contacts.”
The Holiday Inn London – Wembley’s Empire Suite has been recently refurbished and can host up to 500 guests.
The hotel’s operator Splendid Hospitality Group has a portfolio of 19 hotels and is one of the UK’s fastest growing privatelyowned hotel groups.
The group enjoys the support of major brands such as IHG, Choice, Accor and Hilton and the portfolio includes the five-star Conrad London St James as well as Yorkshire’s only five-star hotel, the Grand Hotel and Spa in York.
