Kent Event Centre has posted a 10% increase in turnover for its event business for its financial year to September 2015 compared to 2014. KEC also reports turnover increasing 12% in the first quarter of its current financial year, boosted by a 49% boost in conference sales.
Management at the venue, the largest conference facility in Kent and which offers 7,000sqm of indoor space and 200 acres of outdoor space, attributes the growth in turnover to an increased awareness of the upgraded facilities at the venue, including the site’s Maidstone Exhibition Hall which opened in 2014.
KEC manager Alison Wallington says: “We’re so pleased to have enjoyed such a strong financial year and first quarter. It’s great to see our clients enjoying the new facilities.
“Our profits from the Kent Event Centre are reinvested back into the Kent County Agricultural Society, a charity which helps to support agriculture and land-based industry in the region, so it’s great to know that the conferences and events we host here help us to give something back to the community.”
The month KEC hosted 4,000 people for its recent first ever music festival, the Winter Social Festival.
