Cambridge Ambassadors get together

Academics from Cambridge University and representatives of local organisations were joined by the Mayor of Cambridge and MP for Cambridge at an event to celebrate the promotion of the city as a global centre of excellence for intellectual capital, research and international conferences.

The event was organised by Conference Cambridge and held at Christ’s College.

Dame Fiona Reynolds, Master of Emmanuel College and former director general of the National Trust spoke about her experience in bidding for and hosting the 16th International Conference of National Trusts in September 2015 which involved 250 delegates from 41 countries. Dr Julian Allwood, professor of engineering and the environment, spoke about his planning for the five-day International Conference of Technology of Plasticity 2017, which will bring 600 delegates from more than 30 countries to Cambridge.
