#NoSuchThingAsAFreeLunch as EWL Club readies for Shoreditch launch

Eighty #eventprofs are expected to pay for the pleasure of eating the proof of the pudding that there is no such thing as a free lunch, when The EWL Club officially stages its ‘hard’ launch on 25 January.

The EWL (#Eventprofs Who Lunch) Club is a not-for-profit networking club for event professionals across the industry and will make its official splash at the new M by Montcalm Hotel Shoreditch.

Since a soft launch in April last year the club, founded by Helen Moon, has seen 220 members discuss topical industry issues over lunch and coffee mornings once a month.

Moon (pictured) says: “It’s an exciting time for the club, we’ve gone from strength to strength since starting last year, offering something different and of great value to our members, and open to everyone working professionally across the industry. We set out to encourage great networking and thought-provoking conversations that enable people to make better and stronger connections and we’ve certainly achieved that to date”.

One attendee, Paul Tilstone, CEO of Festive Road, says: “EWL Club is a really positive environment in which to share knowledge and meet new people. I love that you have to pay to attend as it focuses the mind on ensuring you get value from it (#NoSuchThingAsAFreeLunch). It is a refreshing new event style and I will definitely attend again.”
