The Event Marketing Association (EMA), a not-for-profit industry association for in-house corporate event planners, is to launch its Scotland Chapter with a kick-off presentation and discussion in partnership with the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) on the 5 February 2016.
The event will bring together 12 senior-level existing and prospective EMA members at the SECC in Glasgow, to hear expansion plans from EMA UK chair Richard Waddington, followed by a roundtable discussion on the future value proposition for Scottish members.
Waddington says the association set out two years ago to create value for its membership, including monthly content-led events, an education programme and representation for corporate planners. “Thanks to member engagement and our industry partners such as the SECC, we’ve achieved everything we set out to do. This year is about continued growth of our core membership and the launch of new chapters around the UK. Our ambition is to create a network for corporate planners across the country where they can meet and share ideas, address challenges with their piers, both F2F and virtually, in a secure, confidential environment.”
Kathleen Warden, director of conference sales at the SECC, said: “The SECC are thrilled to be partnering with EMA and support the launch of EMA Scotland. This is an excellent opportunity to bring the corporate planning community together in Scotland and demonstrates the SECC strength in strategic partnerships.”
