The company which owns the Walkabout chain of venues, iNTERTAIN, is to open a new venue in The Printworks, Manchester, 10 December, creating 60 jobs and signalling a push to win more events business.
The Printworks venue will see £485,000 invested by the group to create a 600-capacity venue, including VIP areas, a wave bar with screens showing under the sea and surf footage around a coral-reef theme.
The venue is located in the former Henry J Beans and will offer a variety of bookable booths and private areas for parties, meals, club nights and live music.
Front row seats can also be booked for major televised live sports events. They will be shown on giant new projection screens, and multiple HD TVs.
The latest addition to the iNTERTAIN family is the fourth new site in 2015 and follows recent openings in Solihull and Lichfield, in addition to Brighton earlier in the year.
General manager Martin Angus said: “The Printworks is already known for being a fantastic entertainment hub and we’re sure that our new venue won’t disappoint.
“We’re already taking bookings for our opening night and beyond and can’t wait to show people what we’ve got on offer.”
Fred Booth, director at The Printworks, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming Walkabout as a new tenant in The Printworks. They’re set to bring an exciting new vibrancy to the complex, which is already Manchester’s number one party venue.”
