Leisure time to undertake educational activities has been highlighted as the best way to enhance delegate experiences and engagement with conference programmes, according to a nationwide survey by ConferenceLeeds.
The survey asked 500 conference delegates about their experiences and discovered that 58% felt they would benefit from being able to explore their destination when attending a conference.
It also found that 21% of respondents thought social activities such as going for food and drink, or shopping and relaxing were important to maximising conference experience.
Leader of Leeds City Council, councillor Judith Blake, said: “It’s great to know that the delegates that are attending conferences across the UK are keen to explore what their host city has to offer outside the conference programme and that this improves their perception of the conference overall.”
ConferenceLeeds offers 250 conference venues for hire in the West Yorkshire and is the only city outside of London to have four Gold AIM accredited venues.
