UK meeting planners had a chance to experience the Danish ‘Meetovation’ concept first-hand last week at the Royal Opera House. The concept will be central to the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) European Meetings and Events Conference to be held 7-9 February 2016 in Copenhagen.
Business Events Denmark and six Danish trade partners met (13 November) with 35 British meeting planners at the ROH in Covent Garden for an evening of networking and dining.
Kasper Holten, director of the Royal Opera House, who is Danish, was present for the event, along with artists from the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme, who entertained guests while they dined.
Danish suppliers attending the ‘MINDblowing’ event, included Scandic Hotels, Arp-Hansen Hotel Group, BC Hospitality Group, Park Inn by Radisson, Hadler DMC and Unique Meetings in North Sealand. The event gave them an opportunity to present their latest meetings products.
Margit Klemmensen, marketing manager at VisitDenmark UK & Ireland, said: “We were delighted to see so many of our British clients backing our meetings and conference destination at the ROH. Over the years we have received an immense endorsement of our rather unconventional ‘MINDblowing Meetings’ approach.”
