Industry associations and universities give backing to MyEvent.Vision competition

MyEvent.Vision, a competition for new event concepts and fresh talent, has reported a line up of industry trade associations and universities backing the 2016 campaign.

The competition launched last month now reports confirmed partnerships with industry associations including EVCOM, ISES, NOEA, and MPI.

Plans for a University Roadshow have also been agreed following agreements with 20 universities involved in event management.

The competition is open to anyone with an original and dynamic event concept. Event ideas can cut across any and all sectors, including business, food, fashion, sport, music and entertainment.

The winner of last year’s competition received a £5,000 cash prize, as well as a contract of employment and full support from organisers Events International Group (EIG – part of the TUI Group) in bringing their winning event idea to life.

Entrants have until 8 February 2016 to submit their event concepts.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the support received for MyEvent.Vision from across the industry – leading associations, event media and the academic sector,” said Chad Lion-Cachet, EIG managing director. “This means we’re reaching every corner of the industry to ensure we get the very best event concepts entering and a winner worthy of this exceptional prize.”

“This is a massive industry, covering a phenomenal range of sectors,” Lion-Cachet added. “We want ideas from everyone and for every type of event. If the idea is right, we’ll help bring it to life.”
