A live event agency has called in a sustainability expert to boost its Green credentials.
Angela Spatcher, managing director at Apt Communications is working with Goose Live Events in Surrey to make sure their events are environmentally responsible.
The agency has achieved Federation Internationale de l’Automobile Environmental Accreditation for its managed event, the Regent Street Motor Show in London. The FIA for Motor Sport Safety and Sustainability recognised the annual event, which is managed and promoted by Goose Live Events on behalf of the Royal Automobile Club, as meeting the criteria for consistent environmental management and sustainability.
The Regent Street Motor show, took place on 31 October and attracted 400,000 visitors to celebrate veteran, classic and contemporary vehicles.
Goose is one of the first agencies in the world to be awarded ‘Progress towards Excellence’ in the FIA’s Environmental Accreditation Programme.
Sam Trevenna, director of Goose Live Events, said the agency wants to achieve the accreditation across its portfolio of automotive industry events.
She said: “Gaining the FIA Accreditation as an agency for this event was a huge achievement for us. Being a part of the automotive and motorsport events industry, we want to be as considerate as possible and are committed to running and producing sustainable events.”
Angela Spatcher said: “My job was to go into the organisation and help them put sustainability at the front of their planning. The realised that more and more of their clients have their own sustainability agenda. The key thing is that sustainability is about a continuing improvement. If you do it sensibly you can make savings.”
