The Emirates hosted the London Venue Awards 2015

Arsenal Football Club’s Emirates stadium hosted the first London Venue Awards (LVAs) on 16 October 2015, with 15 awards up for grabs.

The awards ceremony was organised by Global Conference Network (GCN) and hosted in the Emirates’ Woolwich suite. The afternoon consisted of a drinks reception, a three-course meal, and live entertainment from freestyle rap artist, Chris Turner.

The LVAs presented awards to 15 different venues, with 30 Euston Square being the only venue to win two awards and resulting in the host venue, The Emirates, also winning an award. The full awards list includes:

Best Conference Venue – up to 300 delegates – 30 Euston Square
Best New or Refurbished Venue – Banking Hall (Mark of Excellence to etc.venues – 155 Bishopsgate)
Best Conference Venue – 300 to 600 delegates – Kings Place (Mark of Excellence to 8 Northumberland Avenue)
Best Livery Hall – Stationers’ Hall
Best Event Venue – 600 to 1,600 attendees – The Brewery
Best Board Room, Meeting or AGM Venue – 30 Euston Square
Best Event Venue – over 1,600 attendees – Lancaster London (Mark of Excellence to Barbican)
Best Sporting Venue for Events – Emirates Stadium
Best Unusual or Unique Venue – up to 200 attendees – ArcelorMittal Orbit (Mark of Excellence to The Roof Gardens)
Best Catering at a Venue – ExceL London and Leith’s at ExCeL
Best Unusual or Unique Venue – over 200 attendees – Forman’s Fish Island
Best Business Club – St James’s Hotel and Club
Best Corporate Party Venue – Swan, Shakespeare’s Globe, The Underglobe (Mark of Excellence to Stamford Bridge)
Best Awards Venue – Tobacco Dock
Best Venue Customer Service – QEII Centre
Best Venue to Work For – Business Design Centre

Rory Ross Russell, co-director of GCN, said: “We were overwhelmed by the volume and quality of the entries we received for these awards. We always knew that London was full of superb venues, but this is the first time they have really been given the recognition they deserve.”

General manager of 30 Euston Square, Yvette Chatwin, said: “It is absolutely amazing that we’ve won these two awards today. We opened three years ago and we’ve worked really hard to establish ourselves in the conference industry and today’s award is real recognition for me and my team that we are doing an amazing job.”

Andy Daniels, venue manager at the host venue, The Emirates, said: “It’s great to be recognised for all the hard work we put in throughout the year. We put in the hours and great customer service from the first phone call to the delivery of the event.”
