Leading figures from sport, business and politics will use a groundbreaking event to explore how sport can be used to address the cultural and economic divisions.
The Beyond Sport Summit & Awards takes place in London from 19 – 21 October.
The Global Awards, supported by Comic Relief are Beyond Sport’s flagship reward scheme. Each year, the official shortlist is selected through an in-depth judging process made up of experts in the field. The Shortlisted initiatives are invited to the annual Beyond Sport Summit and Awards.
The winners of all the Beyond Sport Awards, supported by Comic Relief, receive global recognition, a package of substantial business and strategic support, and exclusive access to partnership and media opportunities. The winners of the Community Awards also receive funding alongside the official Beyond Sport Business Support Package, with the aim of enabling them to move forward and become fully sustainable in the future. Previous Business Support Package Partners have included PwC, Accenture, Euro RSCG, Connor Sport Court International, InFocus, GivenGain, Commonwealth Games Canada and EY, all who have supported our award winners with organisational development support.
Since 2009, Beyond Sport has received over 1,700 entries reaching 144 countries.
Political leaders and governing figures taking part this year include HRH Princess Haya Al Hussein, former FEI President; Lord Ashdown, president UNICEF UK; Baroness Valerie Amos, former undersecretary general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief coordinator; David Grevemberg, CEO Commonwealth Games Federation and Alistair Campbell, writer, communicator and strategist, will join leading figures from the world of sport including Brett Gosper, CEO World Rugby; Lawrence Dallaglio, Rugby World Cup winner, founder and president Dallaglio Foundation; Barry McGuigan, boxing legend; Ian Ritchie, CEO RFU; and Francois Pienaar, Rugby World Cup winning captain.
Event production agency Smyle has been appointed as the official production partner across the three-day programme delivering day and evening events across multiple venues.
