One in a hundred-year rail link for Oxford

London-based delegates thinking of travelling to the dreaming spires of Oxford for their event now have the option of a new rail route.

Chiltern Railway’s service between Oxford Parkway and London Marylebone ran for the first time this week (26 October) and is the first new rail link between London and a major British city for over 100 years.

Ten years in the making, the new link also services Bicester Village Station on what is a scheduled 60-minute journey, making the major shopping outlet and its events space more accessible to visitors from London.

The new Chiltern Railways service complements Great Western Rail’s existing London Paddington to Oxford service.
