Events International Group launches MyEvent.Vision for 2016

MyEvent.Vision, the competition that brings to life new event concepts and discovers fresh talent, has been relaunched this year with the support of Events International Group (EIG), part of TUI Group.

Organisers say the competition is aimed at anyone and everyone, as long as they have a great event concept. Event ideas can cut across any and all sectors, including business, food, fashion, sport, music and entertainment. They could be anything from a week-long exhibition to a UK travelling roadshow, a weekend outdoor festival or a one day experiential event.

The winner of last year’s competition received a £5,000 cash prize, as well as a contract of employment and full support from EIG in developing and bringing to life their winning event idea.

The 2016 competition to bring an own event idea to life was launched 13 October and entrants have until next spring to submit their event concepts.

MyEvent.Vision has the support of associations from across the UK events industry, from the Association of Independent Festivals to the International Special Events Society.

“Last year we had an amazing reaction to MyEvent.Vision and an inspirational winner with a concept we can’t wait to launch next year,” said EIG managing director Chad Lion-Cachet. “This year we’re looking for something fresh and innovative that will flourish in the competitive world of events.”

MyEvent.Vision is also working closely with UK universities that run an events management syllabus, but the organisers are keen to point out that entries can be from anyone with a great event idea.

“This is a massive industry, covering a phenomenal range of sectors,” added Lion-Cachet. “We want ideas from everyone and for every type of event. If the idea is right, we’ll help bring it to life.”
