A travel agency is boosting its presence in Berlin after experiencing 72% growth and winning 14 new clients in Germany during the company’s financial year ending June 2015.
Chambers Travel Management is claiming a strong start to its current financial year with German accounts worth more than €5 million (£3.5m).
The travel management company, which has had a presence in Germany for five years, has moved into new premises in Berlin having outgrown its former office space. The new Berlin office has capacity for 40 staff and has been established to provide an even stronger service hub for clients in continental Europe.
Chambers has appointed Boris Doerwald as European operational development manager to head up the Berlin office. His 27 year career is steeped in the corporate travel industry having held key team leader and account manager roles at Lufthansa City Center and Egencia, as well as NH Hoteles.
Chambers has also appointed three additional operations consultants in Berlin within the last two months and plans to recruit a further two consultants by December 2015
In addition Chambers Travel Management staged its second ‘Chambers Chatter’ forum in Germany on 30 September at the Mandala Hotel in Berlin on the subject of ‘Managing Your TMC’. This series of learning and networking seminars for existing and potential clients is designed to encourage debate and discussion on latest industry news and trends. Chambers Chatter made its debut in Germany last October with a seminar in Munich under the banner ‘Think Global: Act Local.’
“We are committed to the German market and the exciting growth that has brought on this expansion is a reflection of the quality and professional service we provide to our German customer base,” said Chris Thelen, CEO, Chambers Travel Group.
“This is an exciting time for Chambers in Germany and we will continue to strive to deliver local and personal service on the ground with the benefit of a truly global network now that Chambers is the European anchor for CTM Group.”
