TBA organises eBay Connect 2015 seller event in London

Following a competitive pitch process earlier this year, London-based agency TBA was appointed to design and deliver a three-day series of events for eBay’s UK-wide professional seller events in 2015.

The programme of events ran in central London, 2-4 September and was designed to offer 600 of the online auctioneer’s professional sellers an opportunity to physically engage with eBay in a face to face environment.

Technology, Home and Garden and Fashion were the key topics and each day of the conference comprised keynote presentations from senior eBay executives, as well as talks from external presenters including technology trends expert, Paul Papadimitriou, and designer and co-founder of Red or Dead, Wayne Hemingway.

There were workshops, bespoke 1-2-1 sessions, and opportunities to network. The event also coincided with the brand’s 20th birthday this month.

TBA came up with the event name and identity, ‘eBay Connect’ and managed the full production and logistics for the event – including registration and onsite delegate management.

The event venue was B1, a blank canvas warehouse space in Holborn.

“The original idea’ said Karen Swift, TBA account director, “was to create a legacy event for Professional Sellers and eBay to reconnect – a live forum whereby sellers could network, learn and feel totally supported and inspired. More than a sales pitch about eBay, the events were geared around the needs of the professional sellers and packed with top tips, advice and tools for sellers to instantly action to improve their businesses. It was important that we created an experience that supported this core objective.”

Berengere Chaintreau-Fuchs, senior manager, professional seller engagement for eBay in the UK, said: “Professional sellers are at the heart of everything we do at eBay. We love to hear from them and it is very important for us to engage with our Sellers in a live environment too. At events like this, they can meet the eBay teams who are committed to their success. We’re recognising the great entrepreneurial spirit of these small businesses, and are proud to support and help them maximise their business potential on our marketplace.”
