Sweet dreams at Olympia with success of first Event Industry Sleepover

More than 280 #eventprofs enjoyed an evening at the first Event Industry Sleepover at Olympia London, 17 September.

The women-only networking event raised just over £7,000 through registration donations, to support the work of Macmillan Cancer Support and Breast Cancer Now.

All of the event’s suppliers donated their services for free in order to provide the activities enjoyed, including beauty treatments, a mini cinema, yoga and burlesque classes, mixology and catering.

Easyfairs, Media 10 and CloserStill Media were among the major event companies attending and supporting an event that was the brainchild of Reed Exhibitions group operations manager Jennifer Booth.

Booth teamed up with International Confex, Ways & Means Events, Olympia and London Book & Screen Week to make the event a success.

Liz Agostini, Mash Media event director said: “The atmosphere was buzzing and the feedback we received from all the attendees was great.

“We achieved our aim of uniting the women of the events industry while supporting a great cause, and it’s really given us something to build on for next year. We’re already starting to plan for 2016.”
