Jennifer Jenkins is the new chair elect of Meeting Needs, the event industry’s registered charity.
The managing director of the UK arm of global event management company MCI steps up into her now role after a year managing applications for funds and communicating with successful beneficiaries for the charity.
Jenkins received the unanimous support of her fellow volunteers at the charity’s annual general meeting after Martin Lewis, a co-founder of Meeting Needs, stepped down from the chair after 13 years.
Other members of the executive committee elected are Charles Blowfield, Hon Treasurer; Sue O’Gorman, Hon Secretary; Samme Allen, Kate Conway, David Hackett, Tim Bassett, Tim Chudley and Richard Waddington.
Meeting Needs raises around £150,000 per annum of which around 85% goes directly to good causes. In the past year, the charity funded more than 40 projects in 18 countries.
