KDM Events hiring on back of increasing demand for teambuilding services

Midlands and London-based KDM Events has announced three new hires in the last month, with the company saying its expansion comes in response to increasing demand for employee engagement events.

The company specialises in the design and delivery of teambuilding events and interactive conference content and has posted 16% increase in turnover for the first two quarters of 2015, compared with the same period in 2014. Management is predicting the rise for the year will be 24%.

Commercial director Nicky Whyman said: “We’ve received a record number of requests for corporate events that have a strong company values focus. There’s clearly a direct correlation between this more inclusive corporate event format, and a desire amongst companies to retain top talent.”

“Whatever their industry sector, companies are reacting to a highly competitive marketplace in recruitment terms, prompting them to invest heavily in their workforces. Our clients are asking for energising and stimulating events that reward loyalty and hard work – and in some cases also acknowledge the importance of family support.”

Whyman said there was a noticeable trend for companies to hold such events at the company’s office site. “This reflects a strategy to blur the boundaries between work and home, and to go one step beyond the traditional team-bonding initiatives, creating the opportunity for family friendships to be forged,” he added.

The new recruits include Kate Janev, an account executive joining the company’s Agents and Venues sales team and Mehreen Shabbir, a sales administrator, while Ewan Miller joins as event manager.

KDM was established in 1990 and has a 1,300sqm warehouse in Stoke-on-Trent, as well as offices in London.
