Event agency staff have been schooled in the art of procurement and brand experience.
Staff from BI worldwide took part in a ‘meetings and conferencing excellence’ workshop at the London Marriott Hotel Kensington, September 23.
During the full day’s training, the staff attended sessions on key procurement issues including purchasing, compliance, contracting, negotiating, and pricing. The afternoon session took a closer look at how the Marriott International group concentrates on enhancing the customer brand experience through creativity.
Rachel Belliere-Wilson, events operations director, said: “Working with Marriott as our partner to deliver this important session proved invaluable. We were able to collaboratively discuss differing venue and agency positions on contractual clauses and negotiations as well as knowledge-share across all areas of meetings and conferencing, from ‘pre check-in’ to ‘creative use of function space’.
“Using Marriott Kensington’s new generation ‘Meetings Imagined’ studios enabled us to experiment with new ideas during the group exercises whilst the clever ‘bar style’ catering provided by St Pancras Renaissance further inspired our team with brain food throughout the day.”
