Alistair Turner launches new PR agency

Former PR director of Davies Tanner and PR counsel to the Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP) Alistair Turner has launched a new agency specialising in the events industry: EIGHT PR & Marketing.

Turner, who has been campaign director of Britain for Events, left his position at Davies Tanner in July.

He says the new agency will specialise across the broad spectrum of the events industry, from conferences, exhibitions, business events, experiential, incentive travel and corporate hospitality, to outdoor, sporting, musical live events and festivals.

“The key tenets of EIGHT are Intelligence, Creativity and what we’re calling ‘The Club’,” says Turner. “Intelligence comes from the knowledge and experience we’ve picked up over the last 15 years in the industry. This is then adapted creatively to develop campaigns that make a measurable impact on our clients’ businesses.

“Finally, we’re creating a club around our clients, and will encourage organisations who can add value to their businesses to also ‘join’ so that everyone can share knowledge, interact and do business together through EIGHT. It should be fun!” he adds.

Over the last 10 years, Turner has worked on some of the biggest brands and associations in the events industry, including Excel London, the SECC, International Confex, London & Partners, VisitBritain, Chelsea FC, ISES and the BVEP.

Previous to joining Davies Tanner, Turner handled PR for brands including the BBC, Haagen Daz, Trebor Bassett, Tropicana and Muller yogurts.

“We’re trying to create something fresh and dynamic with EIGHT,” Turner adds.

“The agency will work across every aspect of PR & marketing, from brand counsel and strategy, to the implementation of marketing and PR campaigns both domestically and internationally.”
