ISES chief pledges to change attitudes toward live events

The leader of an international association has vowed to convince businesses of the life-changing power of live events in the digital age.

Jodi Collen, CSEP, took the reins at The International Special Events Society (ISES) as its new international president at the Annual General Meeting in New Orleans.

Collen, director of event and conference planning at Augsburg College, Minneapolis, is a previous president of the ISES Minneapolis-St. Paul Chapter and has been a member of the international board of governors for the past five years.

Jodi Collen said; “Now is the very best time to be a part of ISES and I am honored to be chosen to lead our association as we continue to grow our membership, our brand and our influence across the entire global live events industry. We have an amazing year ahead, with the launch of a number of new initiatives, including ISES TV, our new video content platform, our Thought Leader and Speaker Database and the first ever Global Event Summit, in Scotland in 2016.

“There are several things I would like to achieve this year, but my one priority is to ensure that marketeers and other end users understand the power that live events can bring, especially in an increasingly digital world, and that those events are created and delivered by professionals that understand how events can be used to change attitudes, opinions and emotions.”

Kevin Jacskon, ISES UK president said: “Due to the way the marketing world has developed there has never been a better time to be in the event industry and with Jodi’s appointment now is the very best time to be a part of ISES. Jodi is a great leader and will continue to grow our membership, our brand and our influence across the entire global live events industry. Jodi will have an amazing year ahead, with the launch of a number of new and very exciting initiatives including ISES TV, our new video content platform, our Thought Leader and Speaker Database and the first ever Global Event Summit, which takes place in Scotland in 2016. It’s going to be a very big year .”
