Gone are the days of dull, plainly dressed conference rooms holding one giant table together with the long, tiresome meetings – which create mainly fear and yawning for almost everyone involved.

We are now in an age where corporate meetings and events are in place to excite and thrill employees, with ever-changing new concepts to create a fun and interesting space to work in.

Following the North West’s increased demand for conference and events space, unusual venues in Liverpool such as The Epstein Theatre, Liverpool Central Library, LFC Football Stadium and Liverpool Cathedral, have all witnessed a surge in delegate usage due to their quirkiness and originality.

In October 2011, the Business Visits and Events Partnership estimated that conference and meeting events would create a £21.8 billion annual income in 2015, up from £18.8 billion in 2010. With more venues adopting a new arm to the business in order to cater for such corporate occasions and offer more choice, this figure is predicted to rise to £25.2 billion in 2020.

As opposed to being confined to limited office space and the four walls of traditional conference rooms, it is evident that businesspeople are becoming savvier when it comes to selecting venues that incorporate a large capacity, visual appeal and diversity.

Having hosted a range of corporate events from conferences, panels, awards, ceremonies and breakfast meetings, we have witnessed a strong correlation between quirky venues and heightened corporate enjoyment. By providing fascinating surroundings, this helps to spark delegates’ attention and focus and ultimately drives increased active audience participation. Not only do guests feel more involved in the event, quirky venues also act as a form of escapism due to the change of typical office scenery.

Making an impact on current and future colleagues through the use of novel corporate events can offer a great result to your business.

Not only do these occasions help to relay information, provoke networking and spark professional relationships – innovative business events create memorable and enjoyable experiences, which help to emit positive perceptions of your brand.
