Macdonald Hotels stamps new passport scheme for agents

Macdonald Hotels & Resorts has introduced an agents passport scheme, as its new twist on the familiarisation trip model.

The initiative includes a series of nine weekend events for booking agents across the group’s regions.

Participating agents will be given a passport and encouraged to collect a stamp from each trip they attend. Some will win prizes including trips to Macdonald Hotel & Resorts, both in the UK or abroad.

The latest two-night trip took place in the north west and saw agents take part in a cocktail making masterclass and trying the facilities at several of the group’s hotels in the area.

Agents tried the facilities at Macdonald Kilhey Court following a recent refurbishment, as well visiting the newly launched spa at Macdonald Craxton Wood Hotel.

Gill Jackson, sales director at Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, said: “Engaging agents with unique and educational familiarisation trips is very important. We have a varied portfolio, offering a wide variety of meetings options. These trips give a genuine feel for each hotel and allow the agents to understand the offering first-hand”.

The next visit will take place in Aviemore in September.

Gill added: “The first two events have received very positive feedback from agents and we’re looking forward to delivering the rest of the programme between now and June next year”.
