London City Selection appoints new board

Venue marketing consortium, London City Selection (LCS), has appointed a new board to lead it for the next 12 months.

Oliver Hargreaves, deputy head of sales at Barbican Centre, takes the chair, supported by vice-chair Rob Harris, commercial events sales executive of London Stock Exchange.

Other new members of the board include Rowan Bennett of the HAC in London, Paul Martins of Cavendish Venues, Simon Kane of One Moorgate Place and Rachel Loynes of Bishopsgate Institute. Lorraine Butler from Middle Temple will take up a new role on the board as membership chair.

The new board was announced at the LCS’s AGM, held recently at the Baltic Exchange.

Hargreaves said: “I have been involved with London City Selection on behalf of Barbican Centre for a number of years and have witnessed first hand the organic growth of the collective and the benefits it offers members. With a refreshed brand and new website this year which is already delivering significantly more enquiries for members, I am looking forward to working with the new board and members to develop London City Selection further in 2016.”

Outgoing Chair Ed Bolling, general manager of Ironmongers’ Hall, and former Secretariat Theresa Thompson of Barbican Centre, along with Georgie Smith from Sadler’s Wells, all remain on the board.

New member venues to join LCS this year include the Baltic Exchange and Innholders Hall.

London City Selection claims it is the only venue collective to require the Meetings Industry Association’s AIM accreditation of its members as part of its criteria for joining.
