Sportsmen and women, Gamesmakers and politicians gathered at the Holiday Inn London – Stratford City recently for an Olympic Reunion drinks reception.
The event was organised by Dame Tessa Jowell (Secretary of state for Media, Culture and Sports throughout the bid for the 2012 Games) and marked the 10th anniversary of the successful London bid to host the Olympic Games.
VIPS in attendance included: Robin Wales, Mayor of Newham, Jules Pipe, Mayor of Hackney, Cllr Chris Robbins, leader of Waltham Forest Council, Mike Gapes MP for Ilford South and Wes Stressing MP for Ilford North.
A number of the children who accompanied the London bid team when they went to Singapore in 2005 were also in attendance.
Guests were greeted with a performance from the Pandemonium Drummers and also heard a recital from the Games Maker Choir.
