Butlins continuing investment in its accommodation offer has helped boost the company’s conference and events offering. The company has posted a 19% rise in its corporate business.
The recent launch of Seaside Apartments at Butlins’ Skegness resort is part of a retro nostalgia drive and a £25m investment in accommodation across Butlins’ three resorts this year.
The first phase has seen the full refurbishment of 60 apartments, with a further 100 planned for this winter.
Each apartment has either a balcony or patio and part of a transformation of the Lagoon Bay development and a new Seaside Gardens themed experience.
Butlins Meetings & Events national sales manager Simon Jones tells CN: “Since we began investing in accommodation across the three Butlins resorts we have seen a significant rise in corporate bookings with last year’s business increasing by 19%. 2015 looks to be an even bigger year for our team, with further new client wins for all three of our resorts.
“Clients such as Hasbro, New Look, Molson Coors and Rolls Royce Motorcars have all recently taken advantage of our residential packages.
“Our new apartments will offer delegates a ‘seaside home from home’ to relax and unwind after their meetings or team building activities.”
Each apartment has a multi-media hub for device connectivity and early checks in have been introduced for delegates.
Butlins Conference & Events team is using the term, ‘corporate playground’ in its marketing to describe its alternative to traditional event locations.
Event spaces now range from 10-seat board rooms to exclusive hire of the entire resort.
