Quintessentially Events CEO wins First Women Award

Founder and CEO of events management company Quintessentially Events, Annabel Fielding, has been named the winner of the First Women Award for Tourism and Leisure.

This year’s awards were hosted by Clare Balding at London’s Marriot hotel and recognised inspiring women across 13 different arenas including; Finance, Engineering, Media and Retail.

The awards were founded in 2005 and are targeted at senior-level business women and professionals.

Fielding was shortlisted alongside five other contenders, including representatives of SpaBreaks.com, Accord Group and Continuum Attractions.

The judges said Fielding had “taken on the world, delivering extraordinary events across the globe in challenging cultural environments. More used to being behind the scenes, she has a quiet authority and an honesty that is highly valued by her clients and staff. She will make a great ambassador for the First Women movement”.

Fielding began her career in the music industry, working with companies such as Chrysalis/EMI and ZTT Records, and going on to launch her own DJ management agency.

She then moved into high-profile fashion and press events, working on launches for luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton and Perrier Jouet.

In 2005, Fielding co-founded Quintessentially Events with Caroline Villamizar Duque.

Receiving the award from Clare Balding, Fielding said: The events business is largely a behind-the-scenes world and we’re not very good at self-promotion but we’ll get better I think after this. There are lots of amazing ladies and a few fantastic gentlemen behind me, around 75 worldwide, so honestly this is not just for me.”
