Pentecostalists to celebrate centenary at the Ricoh

The National Youth department of the Elim Pentecostal Church, Serious4God, is celebrating Elim’s centenary year by moving its annual Gathering event to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

The three-day celebration of Gathering 100 will take place at the venue, 23-25 October 2015.

The Elim Movement turns 100 this year and has chosen the theme for its event as ‘Let the Future Begin’.

Tim Alford, national director of Serious4God, said the organisers wanted to step the event up a notch this year after previously holding Gatherings in Telford and West Bromwich.

He said: “We looked round a number of different venues but the Ricoh Arena quickly became our number one choice as the most suitable site to hold Gathering 100.

“Its ample space has enabled us to not just meet our requirements but to also custom-build the event to make it exciting and fresh to suit its milestone year and our new theme.

“Our events attract people from as far as Cornwall and Scotland so [the Ricoh’s] links to major roads as well as public transport make it the ideal location.”

Last year’s Gathering welcomed 1,400 visitors and Alford is targeting a larger number this year.

Angela Perkins, head of sales at the Ricoh Arena, added: “It is great to be supporting Serious4God with their most popular event of the year and we look forward to working with them to inspire young people from all over the UK.”
