Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) has renewed a five-year food and beverages supply deal with Leith’s.
Founded by food writer Prue Leith in 1972 and now owned by Compass, the hospitality firm has provided catering for the EICC since it opened almost 20 years ago.
EICC chief executive Marshall Dallas, said: “The quality of Leith’s locally-sourced produce is the very best, their committed and creative team has left an excellent impression on the many thousands of delegates who attend events with us each year. Leith’s really have become central to the EICC’s offering and are part of the reason we are so highly-rated all over the world.”
Dallas, a former food and beverage manager at Gleneagles Hotel, has claimed sales at the conference centre during the first five months of this year are up about 40 per cent on the same period in 2014.
The venue won its bid to host the Rehabilitation International 23rd World Congress in October 2016, an event that should injected at least £2m into the local economy.
The British Society of Echocardiography also brings its annual meeting to the venue in 2017 and 2020, and the Council of International Schools’ forum comes to the EICC later this year and again in 2017.
