Smart Group has concluded a bolt-on acquisition of event caterer Moving Venue. The group says the purchase
will create a combined turnover for the catering division in excess of £12m per
Moving Venue has 30 years’ experience working with venues in the Unique Venues of London consortium
and Museums and Historic Royal Palaces.
High profile events catered
for by Moving Venues include the Man Booker Prize, the Barclaycard Mercury
Prize and the Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
The group will look to
offer Moving Venue clients a range of event services provided by Smart Group
including Christmas Party venues, Corporate Hospitality and a creative event
Moving Venue remain as a
separate trading division and will continue to be overseen and directed for a
minimum of three years by founder and MD, Richard Beggs.

The acquisition will see
Smart Group employ a team of over 50 staff across its Manchester and London
offices with a combined turnover on live events, catering, corporate
hospitality and Christmas parties in excess of £20m.
