AECC reports busiest April since 2009

Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference (AECC) has reported its busiest April since 2009.
 
Events that have taken place this April at AECC include Routes Europe 2015, 12-15 April.  Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Council along with Aberdeen International Airport welcomed 1,100 delegates from all over the world for the 10th annual  Routes Europe event.
 
Betway Premier League Darts returned to the venue last night (16 April) with reigning champion Raymond van Barneveld competing with current world champion Michael van Gerwin. Over 3,800 darts fans were in attendance at the GE Oil & Gas Arena.
 
Next week, VisitScotland Expo, Scotland’s premier B2B travel trade event, will take place. Around 600 visitors are expected to attend with 200 exhibitors from various sectors of the tourism industry including hoteliers, visitor attracts and whisky distilleries. VisitScotland Expo will run on 22-23 April in the GE Oil & Gas Arena and is open to buyers from all sectors of the industry.
 
AECC’s managing director, Brian Horsburgh said: “It is great to welcome a large range of events to the Venue. The line up also includes Scotland’s Franchise Show, Aberdeen Whisky Festival and Energy Cities’ Annual Conference and we look forward to welcoming delegates and consumers to AECC.”
