STA Travel moves into business travel market

Student travel specialist company STA Travel is moving to target young business travellers with a new brand, ‘STA Travel Business’.

The company says the brand will target young business travellers directly in a move that ramps up an existing 15-year business travel operation run through its current B2B business travel arm.
 
Harriet Kerr (pictured), business development director, said the company had been working in the sphere “behind the scenes” for some time. “In recent years we’ve noticed, not only a surge in younger people making business trips, but also a shift in the sorts of travel they’re booking,” she says.
 
“Recent research has shown that 69% of business travellers between 18 and 35 years old will add a leisure element to a business trip, and it’s here that STA Travel can really make a difference.”
 
The new STA Travel Business says it can offer a full TMC service, online booking tool, account management, detailed management information, exclusive air tickets, finance options, and innovative travel policy suggestions.

STA Travel Business customers will be able to change a ticket without fees with an STA Travel Multiflex Pass. Passes cost £29 for one change, £69 for three changes, or £99 for unlimited changes.
 
Kerr added: “We’re really excited about this new chapter for STA Travel; business travel is a dynamic and fast-paced sector, which we will further add to with the launch of STA Travel Business thanks to our exclusive product, expertise and energy.”
