Perton Signs’ director Andrew Kennedy has stepped up from vice-chair role at the Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA) to replace GES executive chairman Nick Marshall who has stepped down from the position.
It is also all change in the deputy chair seat, with Simon Ridout, MD of Dimension 8 taking on the vice-chair role.
“The association has gone from strength to strength over the last seven years, and my belief is that ESSA and its sister associations serve a vital purpose, defending the industry from threats and ensuring its members are heard,” said Kennedy.
“As chair, my emphasis will be on further encouraging links and collaboration between ESSA members. I also want to build on the work ESSA has already done, pushing for greater representation at legislative and regulatory levels.”
Ridout added that he was looking forward to supporting Kennedy’s ambitions to expand ESSA’s influence and “consolidate its pre-eminent position in the industry”.
Andrew Harrison, ESSA director, welcomed the new chair and vice-chair to their posts, saying, “Andrew and Simon are both seasoned professionals who are well aware of the pressures and complexities of running businesses in the sector. I am confident that their combined expertise and understanding of the industry will be important assets as they steer the association into the future.”
