Lime Venue Portfolio (LVP), a collection of unusual, sporting and cultural venues, and part of Levy Restaurants UK, has launched the second wave of its mentoring scheme.
This year’s ‘Growing with LVP’ mentoring programme aims to ensure the next generation of the industry’s movers and shakers have the resources to develop and progress their careers.
Throughout the year, five individuals from SnowDome (Rebecca White) in Tamworth, Edgbaston Stadium (Felicity Proctor) in Birmingham, King Power Stadium at Leicester City FC (Anna Thuraisingham), Bristol Zoo & Gardens (Kellie Gravestock) and LVP’s Central Sales Team (Zoe Powell), will receive one-to-one advice from six senior team members from Levy Restaurants UK.
This year’s scheme kicked off with a ‘Back to the Floor’ challenge at the BRIT Awards, where mentees gained a hands-on understanding of the operational side of events.
Mentors for 2015 are Bethan James, director of special events at Payne and Gunter; Kathryn Richmond, strategic partnership director at Levy Restaurants UK; Lloyd Woodward, assistant finance manager; Kerry Wright, key account manager, and Richard Kadri-Langford, head of marketing for LVP.
Each mentor will spend dedicated time with programme participants, covering areas, such as event management, finance, sales, marketing and client retention. Networking with industry peers will also be facilitated through attendance at trade associations and client events.
Jo Kenny, C&E development manager for LVP and creator of the scheme says: “My ambition for the programme is to develop our colleagues and help them reach their potential through the transfer of knowledge and know-how within Levy Restaurants UK and LVP. In doing so, they will also grow to make significant contributions to our clients and the sector.”
