Central Hall Westminster has appointed Neil Parry (pictured) as director of sales and events and promoted Maria Schuett to head of marketing. The two appointments follow a 53% increase in turnover in 2014.
Parry joins Central Hall from English Heritage where he had held the position of head of hospitality since 2008. He had previously been general manager at London Aquarium and trade marketing manager at London Zoo and The Tussaud’s Group.
He said: “I have been very fortunate in my career to have worked at some great venues and buildings, so to get the chance to work at Central Hall Westminster with all its associated history and iconic status is an amazing opportunity. I am really looking forward to joining the team.”
Maria Schuett joined the business as marketing manager in 2011 and now moves up to the head of marketing role. She has led the venue’s launch of a dedicated mobile website (a first for a London venue) and also drove the development of the ‘Meet The Future’ campaign that culminated in a dedicated event technology conference.
Schuett said: “I am passionate about the Central Hall brand and my industry. I am grateful to be working with such a forward-thinking team and venue that can help to shape the industry’s journey into the future.”
MD Paul Southern said he was delighted to be reinvesting in the venue’s success by growing the team.
“Neil will bring a wealth of experience to the venue and I’m very pleased that we can recognise Maria’s achievements with this newly created role. I look forward to seeing both Neil and Maria continue to take the venue in new, bold directions,” he said.
