Wellcome Collection is set to reopen for events on 1 March 2015 after the completion of a £17.5m refurbishment of the venue, including its event spaces and conference centre.
The renovation was masterminded by award-winning architects Wilkinson Eyre and will draw on the destination’s connections between medicine and art.
The London venue’s centrepiece is the Henry Wellcome Auditorium, which is paired with the Williams Lounge to make a space for all types of events. Four smaller meeting rooms (Franks, Steel, Dale and Burroughs), all of which are flexible in set-up, are also available for hire.
The Medicine Now gallery, which can host evening receptions, has been updated and gained a new staircase.
Daniel Caleb, event spaces manager says: “We are excited to reveal the changes to the venue, they will provide delegates with fresh and reinvigorated spaces to hold their events. Part of Wellcome Collection’s ongoing commitment to improving the delegate experience, we hope the refurbishment will highlight the venue as a destination of choice.”
