Well Met Conferencing in Leeds is creating two new roles of ‘Conference Hosts’ on the back of a 24 per cent rise in enquiries in 2014.
The ‘Hosts’ will manage and oversee operational activity in the university’s venues, providing a single point of contact from the point of booking to the day of the event. Two of Well Met’s current sales officers will move up into the new Conference Host posts.
Kate Davis, head of business development for campus and residential services at Leeds Beckett University says the change in structure in the team represents a move to a new level of service.
“It is of paramount importance that as our business grows our team changes and develops, too,” says Davis. “The new Conference Host positions will make the booking experience even smoother for our customers, allowing us to tailor our service for the growing demand.”
Well Met also recruited a food and beverage manager, Sharon Swales, and an executive chef, David Parker, last year.
Forthcoming events for the team in 2015 include Welcome to Yorkshire’s first ever Tour de Yorkshire taking place in the county in May, the return of Teach First’s prestigious Summer Institute to the University in July, plus the Rugby World Cup 2015 in September, with Leeds Beckett University providing the official training venue for the Scotland Rugby Team.
Leeds Beckett University was the first university venue to achieve the Gold Accredited in Meetings status awarded by the Meetings Industry Association.
