The Fresh Group reveals £2m growth in turnover

Cheshire-based creative event agency the Fresh Group has revealed its turnover rose from £13.6m to £15.6m in the year to September 2014. The agency’s headcount rose from 85 to 93.
These results come off the back of a year which saw a management buyout of the founders by the Fresh management team, backed by private equity firm NVM.
“2014 has been another period of managed sustained growth in a year that has seen fundamental changes in ownership of the business following the MBO,” said financial director Antony Wilson. “Sales have increased by £2m while, crucially, profit margins have remained consistent.
“Over the past four years the average increase in sales is around 28 per cent year-on-year achieved by growing and developing existing clients together with success in new client wins. This puts us in a strong position for similar growth levels going forward.”
The growth in turnover has also impacted the agencies pre-tax profit, which the agency says has risen from £1.1m to £1.3m. The increases have been put down, in part, to new client wins, including securing a contract to deliver Dixons Carphone’s Peak trading event in November 2014, an experiential contract with Carlson Rezidor hotel group and becoming the preferred supplier for events to Homebase.
“As a team the business is delivering on its vision to bring our uniquely joined-up creative offering to clients in new industry sectors. 2014 was a solid year of continued growth for Fresh and 2015 is already shaping up to be a year of transition as we’ve just secured our first global Pharmaceutical client and look to diversify into other sectors and project areas,” said managing director Patrick Howells.
The Fresh team has invested in new experiential and content offerings, which are already servicing existing clients needs, as with Carlson Rezidor, either as part of their events contracts or as stand-alone services. This year also sees the business invest in a management training programme for its team.
