New deal is just the ticket for organisers

A new service will allow travel organisers to organise group rail bookings from their desks.

Meetings and travel management company Inntel has announced a new partnership with thetrainline.com (TTL), an online provider of rail tickets.
Inntel has annual billings of over £45m, with a client roster that includes Lloyds, AXA and First Group.

Its new deal will integrate UK rail content into the Colchester firm’s online platform, allowing its clients to check times and fares, book and fulfill tickets from their desks.

Greg Green, online support manager at Inntel said: “We have worked with the thetrainline.com since 2008 but have now signed a new three year deal. The website –  thetrainline.com – powers the rail section of our online booking tool so our clients can book tickets through Inntel and enjoy the same functionality as through thetrainline.com leisure site. We will be working with thetrainline.com to continue to roll out new enhancements, the first of which is Print Your Own ticketing.”

Ian Cairns, head of distribution at thetrainline.com said: “We are delighted that Inntel will continue to work with thetrainline.com for the next three years. We share the same ethos, that rail is a key part of any successful managed travel programme. Both businesses want to deliver customers a ‘best in class’ solution; doing so by marrying Inntel’s travel management expertise with thetrainline.com’s technology.”
