Duke of York attends InterContinental London – The 02 topping out

His Royal Highness The Duke of York joined stakeholders at the recent topping out ceremony for the InterContinental London – The 02.
 
The ceremony marked the completion of the highest point in the structure of the 18-storey hotel, which is set to open in the last quarter of this year in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
 
Also celebrating the construction milestone were management company The Arora Group, private equity real estate firm Queensgate Investments LLP, AEG Europe and InterContinental Hotels Group.
 
Surinder Arora, founder and chief executive of The Arora Group, said: “Working alongside great partners, we’re on track to open one of the most significant new hotel developments London has witnessed for several years, with events space to rival many of Europe’s largest conference venues and fantastic new leisure and business facilities to join the vibrant mix of entertainment and corporate space here in Greenwich.”

Designed to be sustainable to BREEAM ‘Excellent’ standards, the InterContinental London – The O2 is part of a major development scheme on the Greenwich Peninsula.
 
The hotel features a dedicated conference centre with 3,100sqm pillar-free ballroom accommodating up to 3,000 guests at full capacity; 20 additional meeting rooms; 453 guestrooms and suites; luxury spa with indoor pool; destination restaurants and bars; Tea Salon and rooftop Sky Bar.
 
InterContinental London – The O2 is managed and operated by The Arora Group under a franchise agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group.
