Bookings boom at business park

A business park has seen its conference bookings boom by 262 per
cent.

The St Austell
Business Park in Cornwall hosted 286 events and welcomed 4,963 delegates through its doors
last year.

A delegate survey found that 80.95 percent said the
facilities were excellent, and 19.05 percent said the facilities were good.

The £6.2m facility has been open for 18 months and the
centre manager Charlotte Green said that most of the business was generated by
word of mouth.

The majority of the
bookings at the conference centre are for staff training, workshops, meetings
and presentations.

Green said: “We have good regular clients and attract
companies from Exeter to Falmouth. People appreciate the natural light and the
views across the bay which means you don’t get that slump in you meetings in
the afternoon. The centre really speaks for itself.”
