For the fifth year running Bluehat Group in association with ESP Recruitment has hosted the Eventice, an Apprentice-style interview process, with the second and third days of the competition being held at International Confex.
On offer for the 15 third year Event Management students was a job at Bluehat Group and DMG in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Due to the high calibre of candidates both Bluehat and DMG offered additional roles.
The two graduates who will be joining Bluehat are Bianca Ferreira from the University of Hertfordshire and James Eynon from Southampton Solent University. For DMG the winners were Joanna Thomas and Jenny Homer, both from Leeds Beckett University.
Eynon says: “It’s a brilliant opportunity to take part, to win is an added bonus. It’s nice to know that there is a job for you straight after university, not many people have that chance.”
For three days the candidates were put through their paces with various activities which showcased their ability to multi- task, organise, lead, project manage, negotiate, network and present.
Tim Shepley, CEO of Bluehat says: “Bianca specifically impressed us with her creative ideas and we know that she will be a great addition to our account team. James presented in an extremely positive, proactive and personable way and we know James will add real sparkle to our event solutions, in particular those that involve media, technology and live digital engagement.”
The Eventice has been running since 2011 and has placed 17 students over the past four years in jobs within the events industry.
