Belfast Waterfront Conference and Exhibition Centre’s 4,000sqm extension is said to be well underway with steelworks now rising from the ground.
Set to open in spring 2016, the extension will double the size of the venue’s events space to almost 7,000sqm.
Demolition work finished pre-Christmas and piling works last month, paving the way for the erection of the steel construction.
The main conference and exhibition hall, which has a height of nine metres, is starting to take shape at the rear of the existing facility.
Over the coming months, it is expected that the steel structure for conference and exhibition hall 2, with 700sqm of clear span space, plus additional meeting rooms for up to 200 delegates each, and external terraces will clearly become visible.
Belfast Waterfront in partnership with Visit Belfast recently hosted an Ambassador Evening at the riverside venue revealing its expansion plans to the city’s ambassadors.
