Ambassadors GANG up to win business

Tourism bosses will swap top
tips on snaring new business at a special event next month.

Around 40
experts from venues around the UK including Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham,
Belfast, Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, Newcastle, Dublin, and Aberdeen will attend
an ambassador programme in March at the Old Ship Hotel in Brighton.

The annual Great Ambassador
Networking Group (GANG) event lets representatives swap experiences of working with
local ambassadors to bid for conferences.

The day’s programme will
include a combination
of talks about best practice, keynote speakers and breakout sessions, as well
as an opportunity to meet other ambassador programme organisers.

Delegates staying overnight in the city will
also meet up at Brighton’s newest dining hotspot The Salt Room.

 Lynn Trapano,
VisitBrighton’s ambassador programme coordinator, said:  “I’ve attended
GANG meetings since they began in 2009 and find them immensely useful as a
networking forum.  Ambassador schemes are a great way of forging links
with local influencers who can then help spread the word among their
professional peer groups about what their home towns and cities have to offer.

delighted this year’s meeting is coming to Brighton.  It’s a great
opportunity to showcase the city to a group of close industry colleagues and
I’m confident they will have a valuable and enjoyable time here.”
